Naked Coffee’s Teas and Coffees are the Best!

  • Our House Coffee will Always be ‘Grand Cru’, rated in the top 2% of all the worlds coffee’s.
  • Our House Coffee will never be a Blend or Dark Roast (Yuck!).
  • Our House Coffee will always be brewed to perfection, full bodied with no aftertaste and smooth and balanced acidity. (We use a half-pound of ground bean to 90oz of water, nobody is crazy enough to do this, it costs a fortune).
  • Our Specialty Coffees will always be made to order using small 24oz steaming pitchers. Never behemoth 40-60oz pitchers.
  • We will always grind espresso to order and give the proper 18gram portion of ground espresso.
  • We will never reheat milk for a specialty coffee drink.
  • Our flavoring syrups are all natural, no additives or preservatives.
  • Our Whipping Cream is made fresh each shift.
  • Our Decaf is brewed to order, not by the pot.
  • Our Mochas are made from a blend of two gourmet chocolates, not chocolate syrups.
  • Our blended specialty drinks are made with fresh espresso, not cheap powdered mix.
    Fiercely Independent

    In a world increasingly dominated by bland, faceless strip malls, suburban sprawl, and corporate coffee, The Naked Lounge strives to be different. The Naked Lounge is not McDonalds, Burger King, Wal-Mart, or Starbucks; we don’t want robots working with or for us, instead we try to promote creativity, dialogue, and individuality.

    The Naked Lounge will always be a unique neighborhood gathering place located in downtown or urban settings.

    As an involved owner, Chris believes that properly executed knowledge is power, therefore training is the only way to ensure success.

    His definition of training cannot be found in any dictionary, it was tailored specifically to the industry and dictated by his uncompromising attention to quality.

    Training: The use, application, and dissemination of information in a well formatted, independent environment, designed to create expectations as well as standards which will empower the staff to operate in knowledge.

    It is the creation and consistent application of a user friendly, easily understood training program, operated and managed by involved ownership that makes us successful today. Our training program facilitates the promotion of staff retention, product consistency, and a more static operations and planning environment.

    Naked Coffee is proud to be the inspiration and motivation behind a growing independent coffee market in Sacramento, spawning other great businesses such as Temple Fine Coffees & Teas and Old Soul Co. Our success can be attributed to unsurpassed training and the independent, dynamic individuals who’ve staffed our coffeehouses over the years.

    The goals are simple: Offer the best coffee, the greatest service, and a unique experience for both our customers and our staff!

    Naked Coffee is a small company operating three retail locations and a wholesale distribution center in Northern California with excellence. The Naked Lounge continues to serve up great coffee combined with great service in an independent environment with involved ownership.

    It hasn’t been an easy road, all of the enterprises were self financed using only established cash flow from existing businesses. All contracting and construction work has been accomplished and completed by the owner. The Naked Lounge has grown more than 550% since inception! This basic “stay debt free” and “contract the work yourself” attitude has earned the business a chance at healthy sustainability and future of growth.

    where we’ve been

    The Naked Coffee paradigm begins in 1996 with Chris Pendarvis at the Mission Coffeehouse in Pacific Beach before moving north to Chico in 1999. Established in Chico, Naked Coffee creates Sin of Cortez- a breakfast destination. In 2001, The Naked Lounge opens before heading down south.

    Naked Coffee expanded into Sacramento establishing The Naked Lounge in 2002 and Tupelo in 2004. Meanwhile a coffee roasting operation was created in 2003 up in Chico before re-establishing itself in Oak Park in 2006. Now Naked Coffee has expanding once again bringing a new Naked Lounge to the Retrolodge in downtown Sacramento.

    The Naked Lounge Tea and Coffeehouse in Chico, CA was the third cafe opened by Christopher Pendarvis. Established in June 2001, The Naked Lounge is still serving up caffeine 18 hours a day 365 days a year at 118 W. 2nd Street in downtown Chico. Less than a year after the Chico location opened Christopher began the inception of plans to open a second lounge 90 miles south in the state capitol, Sacramento.

    With a new live music venue opening soon at our Naked Lounge Downtown location on 11th and H, and a breakfast cafe in the works next-door to the roasting plant, Naked Coffee has numerous destinations for coffee of the highest quality.
